Impact
Appalachia
Since 2008, Impact PCG Student Ministries has hosted a mission trip to the Appalachia region, bringing hope and sharing the true meaning of Christmas to a region of our country that is desperately in need. What a ride it has been over the last 15 years of seeing this event grow to reach into 5 different communities in 3 states. Conservative estimates, have over half a million dollars being invested in the Appalachian region thanks to the generous efforts of our Pentecostal Church of God Family during our Impact Appalachia trips.
This year in 2024 our team has made the decision to change things up a bit. Here is a highlight of the changes:
There will still be Christmas outreaches held in 2-3 of the locations in the Appalachia region. These missional outreaches will be held in the communities where we have Churches close by who will help facilitate the outreach & be available for follow up ministry.
Churches/Individuals/Groups who would still like to donate items or financial gifts for these regions, are still able to do that and are encouraged to do so. As always with this event, 100% of donations (items, goods, financial gifts) go directly to the individuals we serve in these communities.
We will not be hosting missions teams as in years past. Instead, we are encouraging each District/State to consider holding a Christmas outreach in their area similar to what we’ve done during Impact Appalachia. *When we started these trips in 2008, not many groups were holding Christmas outreaches. Now, many who have come on these trips have returned to their local areas and conduct similar Christmas outreaches to their local regions! Our hope and prayer is that this same thing will continue to happen all across the country.
If you still have a heart to contribute to the Appalachia region for this years outreaches, that would be greatly appreciated - please see below for more details.
May the seed we’ve sown bear much fruit & may the desire to Impact communities through missional outreach multiply all across the country.

Each year since 2008, Impact PCG Student Ministries has hosted a mission trip to the Appalachia region, bringing hope and sharing the true meaning of Christmas to a region of our country that is desperately in need. Our first trip in 2008 began with one community in Hazel Green, Kentucky, and 19 participants. Since then, Impact Appalachia had spread to four communities: Hazel Green, KY; Boonville, KY; Craigsville, VA; Pineville, WV and had over 200+ participants not including local volunteers!
With the joint partnership of National Missions, Empowered Women’s Ministries, and Churches around the nation, Impact has been able to provide and deliver food boxes, personal care items, blankets, coats, hats, gloves, books, bicycles, and coats for 800 families each year in the Appalachia region.
On the first Saturday in December, four schools open their doors for their students and their immediate family members to enjoy a two-hour program that delivers love, laughter, and a message of hope. Before each student leaves, they receive a wrapped gift and numerous items that fill their personal treasure bag for them to take home and enjoy. In two communities, we host a free Chili-fest for the community and provide gifts for the local residents that attend, as well as following the school program.
This is a great trip for families, youth groups, leaders, and people of all ages to experience. We would be honored to have you join us.
